Biography

William P. Kazuli, M.Ed., MS.Ed., SDA, SAS

William (Willy) Kazuli holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art, a Master’s in Cultural Diversity and School Reform with a focus on Indigenous peoples, and a second Master’s in School Administration.

He worked for more than thirty years at the New York City Department of Education, serving as a teaching artist, art teacher, and program administrator, and eventually retiring as Director for the Arts in one of the city’s school districts. In this role, he managed a multi-million-dollar budget across one hundred schools and developed partnerships with leading cultural institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, the Metropolitan Opera, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the New York Philharmonic, and Early Stages Theatre Company.

Raised and educated in New York City, Kazuli has lived in different parts of the United States and traveled extensively across Europe, South America, Southeast Asia, and North Africa. For the last four years, he has been based on the island of Syros, where he continues to share his passion for the arts. In 2025, he joins the Syros International Music Festival to lead a creative workshop for children.
