Biography
Théo Fouchenneret won first prize at the Geneva International Music Competition in November 2018. The sensitivity and poetry of his touch, together with the maturity of his interpretations, set him apart among pianists of his generation — “a presence and a full, intense sound; the contrasts seize us; Fouchenneret invites us into a true interpretation” (Diapason).
After studies at the CRR in Nice, his hometown, with Christine Gastaud, he continued at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris with Alain Planès, Hortense Cartier-Bresson and Jean-Frédéric Neuburger. First prize winner at the Gabriel Fauré International Piano Competition in 2013, he brings deep conviction to a repertoire close to his heart.
The year 2018 proved a turning point: shortly before his Geneva triumph, he won first prize and five special awards at the Lyon International Chamber Music Competition with the Trio Messiaen.
